QUALITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
Baxt actively strives to achieve significant quality and sustainability objectives through Norwegian-produced products, close proximity to the market, and a focus on enhancing transportation and packaging. Explore some of our measures in more detail below.
Our Work on Quality and Sustainability
We have established a sustainability strategy that clarifies our ambitions and overarching goals while describing how we work to achieve these goals.
To ensure systematic work on sustainability, we follow the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We have selected the following priority areas:
-
Innovation and Infrastructure
-
Responsible Consumption and Production
-
Partnerships for the Goals
Within each of these areas, we have defined clear ambitions and sub-goals to provide direction for our employees and to showcase our sustainability efforts to customers, suppliers, and public authorities.
Proximity to the Market
Baxt prioritizes a high proportion of Norwegian-produced goods and the use of Norwegian raw materials. This provides us with proximity to the market. We focus on optimizing transportation and streamlining packaging.
Freeze and Serve
A large part of our products is quickly frozen directly after production and kept frozen until they reach the point of sale. This allows us to offer consumers better shelf life and reduce the extent of food waste.
More Efficient Packaging
We are working purposefully on measures in packaging, both to reduce the use of plastic and to remove air from the packaging.
Transparency Act
The Transparency Act came into force on July 1, 2022.
This law aims to promote businesses' respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in the production of goods and the provision of services and to ensure public access to information on how businesses handle negative impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.
The implementation of the law means that we at Baxt must conduct due diligence assessments to reduce the risk of our business directly or indirectly contributing to human rights violations.
